The hire period commences at 3.00pm on the first day and concludes at 10.00am on the last day.

Seasons:
Off Peak June, July and August
Normal: September to December -- February to May
Peak: December to January
Easter

A DEPOSIT is required within seven days of a tentative booking for confirmation of hire. Usually ranging between $300 to $750. The BALANCE of the hire fee is required 6 weeks prior to your departure date. Before boarding, a CASH SECURITY BOND is payable. This fee is ranging between $400 to $1500. The Bond is refunded by mail within 14 days upon the end of the hire period, less fuel/oil costs and any loss or damage at cost. Unless an insurance claim needs to be processed. All male or female crews, bonds will be charged at a higher rate. Credit card (Visa, Mastercard) will be accepted for payment of hire fees. A charge will be applied for the use of the facility.

Hire fees and bonds can be direct credited into our account. Eftpos available for Bond/Hire fee payment. Conditions apply. All rates and bonds are subject to alteration without notification.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Please note: This cancellation policy is widely accepted by most Houseboat Owners; however, Owners reserve the right to specify individual cancellation policies. Cancellations notifi ed more than 45 days prior to departure will forfeit all monies paid unless the houseboat can be rebooked for it’s full value, in which case, all monies paid will be refunded less $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations notifi ed less than 45 days prior to departure will forfeit all monies paid unless the houseboat can be rebooked for its full value, in which case all monies will be refunded less the deposit paid.

The number of persons hiring a houseboat must not exceed the number of berths provided. A child over the age of 12 months is counted as one person. Any person driving a houseboat must be over the age of 18 years and hold either a full current drivers or boat licence. Houseboats must not be driven at night. All Marine and Harbour regulations must be agreed and adhered to at all times.

Houseboats must not travel further south than the Wellington ferry. Comprehensive instructions will be given in the handling of the craft, together with river maps and DMH equipment. Under no circumstances are fireworks, axes, chainsaws, candles or trail bikes allowed. Pets are NOT permitted on board.

The houseboat must be returned in a neat and tidy condition, or fees will be incurred. Smoking restrictions apply to the inside of houseboats. No fuel/gas is to be carried or decanted on the houseboat. No one can sleep in front lounge areas on sofa beds while gas heater is on board the boat.
